reduces fifty-four countries to a handful of nouns — conflict, aid, safari.
A reader who can find Lesotho on a page and learn it is the only country
entirely above 1,000 metres is a reader less likely to accept a lazy
headline. The atlas is context infrastructure for the newsroom, and it is
open to readers for the same reason.
